Jumpstart Print E-mail

Jumpstart is a special project managed by DOORWAYS for parents with HIV/AIDS. Supported through grants from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the City of St. Louis, the Jumpstart project enables DOORWAYS to provide clients with a diverse mix of supportive services in addition to subsidized housing. Twenty families are currently enrolled in Jumpstart housing, which is located in individual units scattered throughout the City of St. Louis.

Clients pay no more than 30% of their income for housing, and can receive child care, educational assistance, or other services designed to help them achieve self-sufficiency.

A total of 19 adults and 58 children found stable housing in the Jumpstart Program in FY 2008 and gained the opportunity to make long-term improvements in the quality of their lives.
